Why would a golden retriever rescue have a hound available for adoption?? Because this hound needed us. He was picked up by Animal Control & taken to the county shelter. He was in such bad shape they didn't expect him to live. Howie was less than skin & bones. Dumped out by a miserable person who didn't care whether he survived or not. Pictures of Howie in this condition are available to those who ask, but they aren't appropriate to post here.

Howie is a very low-key guy who enjoys relaxing in the shade or in his bed. He interacts well with other dogs, but would also do well as an only dog. Howie is an animal lover, getting along with cats, ducks and horses. He loves to walk and does well on a leash. How is the perfect compliment for a family.
